WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday he aborted a military strike on Iran because he it could have killed 150 people, a disproportionate response to Tehrans downing of an unmanned U.S. surveillance drone.Trump said the plan was to hit three sites in response to the drones downing on Thursday, which Tehran said took place over its territory and which Washington said occurred in international airspace over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The drone incident aggravated fears of a direct military clash between the longtime foes and oil prices rose about $1 per barrel to above $65.50 on Friday due to worries about possible disruptions to crude exports from the Gulf.

I dont know, but the part I wont forgive Bush for is not standing up. If we could know WMDs were headed for Syria, why wouldnt we know where they ended up? If he believed they were there why didn’t he fight?
I know Obama screwed it up, but the truth is we should have been out of there years earlier. Truth is we were nation building.
No it isnt. Bush curled up into a hedgehog ball and just absorbed anything aimed at him. He was so busy building nations that he forgot we were fighting terror. Afghanistan was put on the back burner and allowed to fester and go unresolved.
I dont hate Bush, I just have lost all respect for him.
Good point. There would be a lot of yakking on this issue at the G20 meeting.
No I didnt forget anything. Bush had years to do something. He waited until the last minute. He spent years being the whipped puppy allowing everyone to take shots at him. Why didnt he do anything about the incorrect information on WMDs.
The war was in Afghanistan.
That’s only half the story - he supposedly got some last minute info that it was a “rogue commander” who had incurred the wrath of Mullahs.
Kind of funny to have him prove all the dippy-hippy doves wrong and now get it from folks for not being the insane hawk the concern trolls feared...the guy just can’t win on FR...and it’s ironic that whichever side someone decides to slam him for, the other common thread seems to be a general lack of pushing the “donate” button.
It’s why I changed my tagline....
Good point.
