True. It’s good to remind liberals, that FDR issued the executive order which resulted in setting up internment camps. A Democrat icon did that.
So many things in history are ignored or distorted by liberals. The Jim crow laws of the old south were all passed by Democrats. Democrat governors resisted the civil Rights movement. It was an evil Republican president, Eisenhower, who sent federal troops to enforce a school integration court order.
Excuse me, war had been declared after Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
Some Italians also went to internment camps because Italy had been declared a Nazi country by Mussolini, the Italian leader. It was just a bit ridiculous considering Fiorello LaGuardia was Mayor of NYC at the time and many Italians were in the US armed services. On October 12, 1942, less than a year later, U.S. Attorney General Francis Biddle declared that Italians were no longer enemies of the state. Interesting account here:

Well, actual internment camps were pretty similar to the original concentration camps in Russia and the Boer. But the immigration camps are nowhere near those in context or execution.
The internment camps were not concentration camps. They were pretty nice, actually. I slept in those billets.
