It’s the part where they repeatedly claim that she shows up to various events, yet there are no photos, or the photos are dark and indistinct, that feeds speculation.

If she is fit to do her job, she should be able to appear in public, on the bench. She has not done that since she fell and broke her ribs. The fall seems a very reasonable explanation as to how she died.

So there you have it. There’s a hypothesis that she didn’t recover from the fall and died from complications shortly thereafter. In the half year plus intervening there has been no convincing evidence to falsify the hypothesis, and what looks like several attempts to fake a falsification.

She was just on the bench on Monday when the Court announced several decisions. She read briefly from her majority opinion in Virginia House of Delegates v. Bethune-Hill. The Court will have more opinions tomorrow and she'll probably be in attendance then, too.

She might be hiding illness, yes, but she's not dead. We'll all know it when she kicks the bucket.
