Gordon Cole (played by David Lynch), is a Regional Bureau Chief in the FBI and Agent Cooper's immediate superior. He is very hard of hearing and thus speaks very loudly. He often misunderstands what is said to him and replies with comically inappropriate responses. While in Twin Peaks, Cooper and Cole go to the Double R Diner where he is smitten by waitress Shelly Johnson, whom he claims he can hear perfectly well...

I know a lot of deaf old Vets, and they get lucky from time to time LOL.
We ate at the Roslyn diner once. It wasn’t very good. Too touristy too.
What?
(said in my hard of hearing voice)
David Lynch went way too far off the reservation in the recent redoo.
Fully 2/3’s or more of it wasn’t plot related but just put in to kill time. 3 episodes would have sufficed easily.

I thought that was twin Peaks? I could be wrong. I’ve moved to Kentucky (from Washington state) since those shows were on and I rarely watched either, so I may have them mixed up.
My band used to play at the bar in downtown Fall City (Raging River) all the time. And yeah, I did get my shows mixed up.

The latter was filmed in Roslyn, so they had to change the name of the restaurant from Roslyn to “Roslyn’s” in the show, so it didn’t look like a town name. :)
That is a very picturesque area. I love it. But it doesn’t hold a candle to the small towns I’ve visited in Kentucky.
Dan, an old tank commander who is deaf as a stump, lured them in with a cute little long haired dachshund that would drink at the bar with him.
Then be would bellow how fine the girl was that noticed.
Hell, he was getting laid.. :)
