Roger that. My brother Ken said while on Okinawa in 1944 he checked the date on a C-Ration he was eating. Omaha, Nebraska 1929! It’s a continuous struggle to keep my bride from heaving canned goods and stuff the day after the arbitrary Use By Date.....which is another “gift” from the grifters in DC.

The US invasion of Okinawa began on April 1, 1945. (My father participated.) So the 1929 C-Ration was 16 years old rather than 15.

Same here. I'll frequently open the fridge and yell "Hey, what happened to all my food? That was my dinner for tonight, tomorrow and the next day." Happens all the time. 35 years of marriage hasn't changed that one bit.
