Very obvious Two groups of farmers. One takes their crop insurance and don’t even bother to plant a secondary crop. The other is planting soy beans. Some by plane. One farmer I know has over 1,000 acre that he wasn’t able to plant the first time. He’s considering Hemp because it has a short growing season. Local long term oil company has opened a processing plant for oil in our county. They also have a research area for other uses. Lots of land and empty buildings available in the same industrial complex. It had been a WWII Airfield base. They don’t even have the expense of building storage facilities.
I'm sure they must know better than me, but wouldn't the seeds just land on top of the ground to be eaten by birds, rats or blown away? Will they germinate if they are not covered? Wouldn't the wind blow the seeds as they fall? I assume the sees would just scatter, wouldn't it be difficult to harvest if a combine doesn't have rows to navigate?
I guess if this works, it might be a good opportunity for drones in the future.
