Aren’t many of them driving right now WITHOUT U.S. driver’s licenses? That is the situation in most states. I really don’t see how letting them apply for DLs increases the risk. Seems like it might lower the risk if they learn more about the laws here.
BTW, here in WA State, where illegals can get driver’s licenses, I pay $1050/yr for three vehicles and one of them has full coverage including collision. The other two are just liability and underinsured motorist.
Its basically about motor voter.
