I spent 25 years in big city Emergency Medicine. I've encountered more paranoid schizophrenics than you've had hot dinners.I know how such individuals are inclined to act when they feel threatened.
Not having been there I can only imagine various scenarios to explain what happened...that imagining based,to a degree,on long experience.
That's why I said "possible".
