DUBAI (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump blamed Iran on Friday for attacks on two oil tankers at the entrance to the Gulf despite Tehrans denials, stoking fears of a confrontation in the vital oil shipping route.Iran has dismissed earlier U.S. charges that it was behind Thursdays attacks that crippled two tankers and has previously threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of globally consumed oil passes, if its oil exports were halted.
Thursdays blasts followed a similar attacks a month earlier on four tankers, which Washington also blamed on Tehran.
Asked how he planned to address Tehran and prevent any further incidents, Trump told Fox News: Were going to see.

Even Jimmy Carter recognized the free flow of commerce/oil in the Persian Gulf as a strategic US interest, and declared the US would wage existential war to ensure it.
“The reason I voted for Trump is that hes smarter than all those experts calling for a military response or war with Iran. Attacking is what Iranwants us to do because Trumps sanctions are working and the mullahs cannot bear them. Overt military confrontation changes the political equation to Irans advantage. Deny the gambit, and double down on what is apparently working so well.”
I tend to agree.
However, I think a few missing subs and mysterious ammo depot explosions could help drive home the point. Without US claim, of course.
