I’m Sorry, But The Women’s World Cup Is Basically Unwatchable
The Federalist ^ | June 13, 2019 | David Marcus

Much to the chagrin and disdain of many my good American colleagues at this publication, I am a soccer fan. I love the beautiful game, its mesmerizing stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Renaldo. I appreciate the tactics, and even the ties, ties, ties. So this week I decided to give the women’s World Cup a try. I regret to inform you good readers that it is awful, and bordering on unwatchable. At first I couldn’t quite tell what the problem was. There were 22 people kicking a ball around with exceptional skill, tight triangle passing, counter attacks, everything I usually look for in a good fixture. So why was I bored out of my mind watching these games I tried to endure?

No actually offsides is when the player is beyond the last defender before the ball is played to that player. You have to be in front of the defense or in-line with last defender. Basically you are ahead of the defense with only the goalie in front of you BEFORE the ball is passed to you. Without the rule it would be like playing kickball on a playground.

It is actually very easy to call and not difficult to see at all when you are coaching. Harder for players trying to get an edge to see they are offsides. Most pros know they are offsides they howl at the referee like a linesman getting called for holding, its all for show.

If not for women’s sports, there would be nothing left for sissy men to be good at.

I’m convinced the boy’s Class 6A state champion in Texas basketball could defeat the best pro women’s basketball team, and by a wide margin at that.

His arguments make a lot of sense. I’d like to see women’s sports be exciting for all people to watch, like tennis or gymnastics, too. I don’t like women’s sports to be made into sexy eye candy shows, but fun athletic competitions.

You want your women to have ENOUGH testosterone, believe me! It’s important. If your woman has low t, she will have no interest in you!

I played Team Handball. Best, dynamic team game, wildly popular in Europe. Results are in 20 - 30 goals. If they had offside rule, it would be in 4 - 8 goals. Boooring!
Games become faster, more goals, more interesting. Some stale soccer games, you have team pressing most of the time, only get beaten by one lucky goal by another team. After 90 minutes of back and forth kicking.
I played soccer, but found Handball much better, you use hands and feet in interesting game. Too bad it is almost unknown in US.

To each their own. Some people finding curling to be exciting. What is good for one sport will not work in another.
