Talented guy. Besides his singing career, he was always fantastic on the Carol Burnett Show. His Columbo skit was terrific.

I think of Steve Lawrence from the classic SNL "The Sinatra Group" skit.
Frank Sinatra: No, Bob Goulet thats not talented! You got talent! You got a Dionne Warwick/Falana kind of thing going. Steve and Eydie?
Eydie Gorme: Oh, youre right, Frank.
Steve Lawrence: Absolutely. Hes great!
Frank Sinatra: Of course he is, you brownnoses. Look at you, youre just swimming in my wake.

My Dad was treated for his Old Timers with a antipyscotic drug.
Made a big difference.
We were told that at some point it could/would turn off and all hell could break loose.
He passed of something else before that reality came to fruitation.

In the early weeks of 1957, it seems that everybody and his uncle recorded "The Banana Boat Song." Steve's version was made with Dick Jacobs & His Orchestra & Chorus, who had scored a few months earlier with
The Man With the Golden Arm.

do people remember when AM radio would play Steve and Edie, Sinatra,Mel Torme,Robert Gullet, etc ....
rock music was on the FM stations which ONLY played music, no commercials....
I feel for the last 4 decades the younger people have had a very limited exposure to good music.
