The revenue goes up, but not as fast as the spending from the undisciplined leaders.
There’s always a “reason” (Note not saying tis a good reason!) to spend and 10’s of millions of advocates for those reasons. There lies the problem!
Reasons to save: Means for politicians no ribbon cutting ceremonies, no public ceremonies celebrating “something” the “wise & benevolent” politician did. No jobs for the “perpetually outraged”, no jobs for the perpetual advocates of the “oppressed”, etc. All meaning few if any votes. So no reason to save at all!
