The Blues make the Final 3 years in a row, all right after they entered the NHL.
The Blues were swept 0-4 all 3 times. The last time Boston beat them in OT with the winning goal being scored by Bobby Orr in the iconic photo of him flying in the air.
I’d say the Blues defeated those demons with a statue of Orr scoring right outside that very building they lifted the Stanley Cup in!
A story book ending!
Oh yes, I remember seeing that famous picture.
Maybe start the NHL hockey season maybe say late in September?
Binnington stole the series with his unbelievable goaltending. He could make St. Louis a regular contender for the playoffs if he continues to play like that.
I have season tickets for AHL team Hershey Bears. The Blues player Zach Sanford had played for Hershey, and a long time ago, when they were the Flyers farm team, so did Craig Berube. One of the coolest things about watching AHL hockey is that I watch and meet so many young prospects who end up scattered throughout the NHL.
My Penguins had a tough season. They kept many fan favorites who are getting old and slow, so I hope for a younger, faster roster next year.
Penguins goaltender was the last rookie to win the Stanley Cup. In fact he won it back-to-back! The first time he didn’t play enough regular season games to be considered a rookie. So ***technically*** he won both times as a rookie!
Again, thanks Airborne for running this thread! Congrats to the The Blues for a terrific season.
I would be surprised if the Blues heard a LOT of motivating speeches over the course of the season in order to go from dead last to the championship.
Once again,thank-you for running the hockey threads!
Late September start even better!
Once again,congrats to the Blues!
Ive been so disappointed with them that I want several of the Habs to be my pallbearers so they can let me down one last time.
And finally, the biggest takeaway from the Blues parade - a drunk Brett Hull singing “Gloria”! (badly)
The biggest takeaway from the NBA Raptors parade - 4 people shot and 3 people under arrest.
Sad, isnt it? Canada wins a championship and this. Is it the sport? If they had won the Stanley Cup, would there have been shootings?
