It’s not the continued goal scoring, its the unnecessary celebrating and ‘in your face’ behavior after each goal.

That kind of behavior only pisses-off your next opponent too. You don’t want to give them extra motivation.

Good sportsmanship is a win-win for everyone.

Oh, yes....that ‘in your face’ attitude is catching and it isn’t ‘good’.

The Nationals have taken their ‘celebrations’ to the dugout, with the obligatory(??) high fives on the field.

I still go along with John ‘Diesel’ Riggins when asked why he was ‘so 1940s’ by TOUCHing the ball on the ground in the end zone after a score — ‘I act like I have been there before and hope to go there many times in the future’ (or something along that vein.

The pitcher gets ‘upset’ when the hitter creams one then casually flips the bat and strolls around the bases, taking his time etc.

Playing ‘Devils Advocate’ do you think if the pitcher didn’t strut around behind the mound after a K or gesture to the hitter ‘I gotcha’ the hitters might tone it down?

I doubt they would tone it down, but I do see a ‘short life’ for the BB celebrations INCLUDING the ‘signing oneself’, offering a ‘prayer’ etc be included in the ‘don’t’ column.

They will probably have a time limit on running out a homer and take it away if too much theatrics..(Sarc but who knows what the tyrants will foist upon us)
