US women's World Cup team comes under criticism for celebrating goals in blowout.
They did nothing to ease off, even long after the game was a total rout; they did everything they could to run up the score and rub the Thai womens' faces in the dirt. And they never stopped whooping it up in huge celebrations after every goal.
Berlin_FauxFreeper actually excuses the team's disrespect for their own country's anthem & flag ("hey, it was just one member!" Yeah, where have we heard that before? ... "It's just Colin Kapernick & 1 other teammate, for pity's sake!"), and celebrates the "historic" classless behavior of the entire team in rubbing the Thai's face in the dirt by whooping up to the max each excessive goal they scored, and Alex M gets a free pass from him with his endorsement of her bikini photos.
Other than a Never-Trumper or a newbie troll, he's the worst kind of example of a Freeper you can find.... I.e., someone who proudly proclaims their conservative views, up until the point a good-looking female leftie comes along, at which point his entire political belief system gets thrown under the bus while he ravenously pants after the hot body of a female who trashes everything he (purportedly) believes in.
IF AOC or Ilhan Omar should ever post their bikini photos, and it turns out they have "hot" bodies, expect berlin_freeper to slobber and drool over both their flesh and their politics.

Soccer has limited substitutions. In most other sports, a coach would have cleared the bench. You can't do that in soccer. I do think Jill Ellis should have used her three substitutions earlier, but in a World Cup game, I think the team should be relentless on the field.
The best part of yesterday's result was that seven different players scored. That's important going forward. Soccer is like basketball in many ways. In both sports, there is such a thing as a scorer's mentality, which is a mix of confidence and aggressiveness. In a major tournament, you want your scorers engaged, relaxed and confident when they enter the game. That's especially important for the younger players who don't have World Cup experience.
You DON'T want players coming into a knockout round game against a peer level team, with the score tied or the U.S. down, and only then getting their first minutes and looking for their first goal. Getting a goal or two in the early games gets that monkey off a player's back and relaxes her going forward.
Backing off leads to sloppy play. There's no place for that in the first game of the World Cup.
