Well, if that is the case, I don't know where you find real pastry that tastes just as good the next day. I like doughnuts plenty, and KK is not shy about showing their process.

Compare this to Dunkin Donuts, which has recently been kind of embarrassed that they sell doughnuts, and shortened the name to Dunkin. They used to make good doughnuts, particularly their French Crueller. Now, most of their doughnuts are made outside Chicago and frozen, and the difference is obvious. I've had the Bess Eatons, Mr. Donut, Tim Horton's, Bosa's, and an array of ma and pa shops. I've never, ever had a pastry doughnut that didn't taste better fresh.

You might want to go back and re-read my post. Never said “just as good” the next day.

If you’re ever in the Austin Texas area, do yourself a favor and head north to Round Rock and try Round Rock Donuts. KK doesn’t even come close.
