In all honesty, I think Rush knows the media better than the president. I admire your eternal optimism, but I don’t think President Trump set up Stef. I think it’s the other way around, which is why he’s been clarifying.
I remember Rush talking about golfing with President Trump not long after he was inaugurated, and the president telling Rush that he’s been somewhat surprised at how the media has come after him so fiercely. He thought they’d give it up once he won. I also saw Ivanka interviewed once and she stated how stunned they were at the viciousness of the media.
Rush told the president that he wasn’t the least bit surprised, and to not expect it to ever stop.
I’m pretty sure that Trump was dialed in about the media with the white hats who were part of the effort to get Trump to run and then, to win.
If there was any doubt in Trump’s mind, that was over at the time of the pussy grabbing comment controversy in early October, 2016.
Trump knows Steffie is the enemy, heck, he is practically joined at the hip to Bill and Clinton.
Trump is not unaware of this.
