I went to Americus High School, which is 8 miles south of Plains, GA. We were 'President Jimmy Carter's Home Representative Band'. We went up to Plains when Begin came to visit. Apparently he liked our Fight Song, because we played it something like 37 times in a row.
Okay, that's just giving y'all a little idea of where I'm coming from.
A family member somehow managed to get us invited to go to church with the president. That tiny little church. Probably doesn't seat more than a hundred people, I think my apartment's bigger than that.
We show up and Secret Service is going through all the Bibles, Hymnals, pulling up plants.
Service was about an hour, like they usually are, and afterward I got to shake his hand.
So that's my story. I shook hands with the president.
I know, he's evil and all that, but when you're 15, he's just the president.
