The weird one is where they say that a traditional Christmas meal is to go to Kentucky Fried Chicken.

They really do that, and a lot of people believe it.

The other one is “Christmas Cake” —incredibly popular and very widely believed. I mean, very many people believe that in America, Christmas Cakes are not only a thing, but a really big deal.

If you say you don’t know what that is, they are shocked and even somewhat annoyed.

I remember “King cakes” all over Louisiana celebrating the end of the Christmas season and leading into Lent.

Probably stems from some enterprising Cajun making a buck after the war.

Much like the way that Coca Cola or diamonds were heavily promoted to become a cultural item, only to become the “In” fashion in countries all over the world.
