An engaged couple in Missouri say they’re shocked and saddened after a restaurant in St. Charles County refused to host their rehearsal dinner upon learning they were in a same-sex relationship.
Kendall Brown told KMOV she had reached out to Madison’s Café in O’Fallon about booking dinner ahead of her wedding to Mindy Rackley on June 15, but claims she was told the restaurant couldn’t “condone” the brides-to-be’s nuptials.
“It just saddens me. I could not believe that really happened to us,” Rackley told KMOV. “I could not believe that still really happens in this world today.”
According to Brown, a woman on the other end of the line was willing to make dinner reservations for the group, but changed her mind upon asking for the “groom’s name” and learning there wouldn’t be one.
“She said, 'Your spouse is a woman?’” Brown said. “I said yes. And she said, ‘I’m sorry we are going to defer you to someone else because we don’t condone that kind of relationship.”
Brown said the woman also told her she was in an “unhealthy relationship.” Rackley added that she was appalled by the woman's comments, which made her feel “less than human."(snip)
Missouri’s Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination based on sex and race, but not specifically sexual orientation, Yahoo notes. But Fox 2 contacted the city of O’Fallon for clarification, and officials said a municipal code may have been violated.(snip)
Brown added that she has no ill-will toward the restaurant, despite the disappointing turn of events.

If she truly harbored no ill will, she would not have gone public with it, because everyone knows these days in this PC climate what being anti-gay means to a business.

I don’t know if I’d take it that far. I look at it as an accepted mental illness or a recreational endeavor. Either way, I don’t have a dog in the fight if I’m left alone. What they do in their bedroom is there business just like myself.
But they cross the line by demanding, and using the laws made to get their votes, for a forced acceptance. And at some point, forced cooperation of their religiously non-accepted lifestyle that counters mine that I keep to myself. And that stops being a matter of that equality they demand and starts being a matter of segregation on me. I become the outcast the same way that I gave them the benefit of the doubt not to be if all they have to do is let me alone.
And if theirs is such an accepted lifestyle, then why don’t they go to a restaurant that caters to their determinations? If the lifestyle is so accepted, surely there are establishments that are better suited to their needs and would jump at the chance for the business. There are four in my area, Seattle proper, alone that openly advertise:

But they have to understand the food facilities won’t get my business by their choice. And that’s nothing more than plain old fashioned capitalism. They market, I choose. So there are always other sources. This couple is just making trouble to attack those that don’t want any.

You forgot the other city by the bay, SF in CA.
El Techo, Maven, Tacolicious, Juhu Beach Club, Trestle, and many more cater to the LGBT community throughout the bay area. They have a much bigger assortment than Seattle. Of course your first question would be how did I know about these establishments? They advertise. And they are generally located in the area near North Beach and Market Street, known homosexual hangouts.
