Living around CT all my life, with the exception of the 91 and 95 corridors, the state is very nice, very Yankee, and pretty much delightful.

Western MA is pretty much the same. Get out of Springfield and the area is pretty nice and low key. Reading the Police Blotters in the local towns is kind of humorous—but so boring.

Most of New England is like that. Once you get outside the urban ghettos, it is a wonderful place to live with great people and a near perfect climate with the exception of spring, which is virtually non-existent in these parts. You get warm summers, spectacular autumns and Norman Rockwell winters, but for some reason, we skip from winter right into summer around here!

Before coming to Connecticut, I lived in Chelmsford, MA for a number of years. Another picture-perfect New England town with almost zero violent crime and pleasant neighbors. Reading the police blotter up there was mostly "cat-in-a-tree" type stuff.

Down here in Connecticut, they don't even print a police blotter to my knowledge.
