The University of Alabama is older than you think. It was established in 1820. Enrollment is currently over 38,000 and expected to rise over 40,000 very soon.
Students come as far as California, Texas, New Jersey and other countries.
Despite the usual bigots who denigrate it as just a Football Factory, UA really is a very respectable academic institution.
