I would actually like to read and perpetuate this article. Successful bloggers know that the primary secret of their success is that readers aren't required to get a login and password to read their blogs. The secret to being successful in blogging is readership. Eliminating upwards of 95% of your potential audience is not a formula for success.

Abstinence is a virtue.
Prohibition is a tyranny.

You can’t legislate against stupidity. Isn’t it time people resist the growth of the police state.

The war on drugs has been a disaster and the only winner in the war on drugs has been the police state and the prison industrial complex.

This should be left to the States.

Which would lead to permanent conservative control of the Senate, and as a consequence control of the Supreme Court as well.

Just how "concerned" can you be considered when known addictive toxic carcinogenic mind altering substances are legal and readily sold?

Till yer ready to ban ethanol, tobacco, and caffiene, you're just pickin on the pot heads!

A certain percentage of people like to get a buzz.

I understand prohibition of substances like meth...extremely dangerous.

But IMO, federal laws criminalizing drugs are unconstitutional...that’s why it took an amendment to ban alcohol.

They should allow pharmaceutical companies to develop safer intoxicants...preferably a few that have an instant antidote available...like NARCAN® (naloxone HCI) | Nasal Spray 4mg, for opiates.

What if there was something akin to pot that had an instant antidote available? If you had a situation come up where you needed your wits about you just inhale the antidote like an asthma spray....hits the brain in seconds.

Treat weed like other Adult Only products. State control, sin taxes etc . . .
The call to arms is, Give up your Makers Mark, we’ll give up our Sinsemilla!
But DON’T prohibit personal production for personal use.
The ban against distilling causes lots of problems. Carter signed law for home beer brewing.
Now it’s time to Free the Shine!
And have Home Depot sell Grow Kits for Mary Jane.

I personally know several lawyers and court judges who smoke pot regularly.
I never have, but most people my age consider it harmless.
My boomer parents have never smoked pot, which is quite a needle to thread, among boomers.
If we had a family motto it might be “Keep your wits about you and don’t break laws.”

While the multi-billion dollar marijuana lobby insists that cannabis is harmless,

I call BS - exactly who says so and in exactly what words?

Marijuana is a form of intoxication.

So is alcohol ... I guess it also should be illegal.

“6. Marijuana Destroys Mental Health”

...all too slowly. The process should be quickened and much intensified, so we can soon solve the problem in a much simpler and more efficient way.

There are no illegal drugs in America.
That would be unconstitutional. See repeal of 18th Amendment. Same premise.

There are, however, controlled substances in America through The Controlled Substance Act.
An end run around the Constitution, IMO.

I like this solid piece by Hillsdale:

https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/marijuana-mental-illness-violence/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid+&utm_campaign=Imprimis+Article+-+Medical+Marijuana&utm_content=04212019&fbclid=IwAR0O3wxkYTbnWfUfT03DeFly3P4ZSt2JNsUaiAWduaCMQmxVIr4tlrcYpBA

Really sums up my opinions and is thorough and scholarly.

I have never seen anyone who continued smoking pot for more than a few years turn out “well,”. They always go downhill spiritually, morally, cognitively and health wise if they keep it up.

I mean never. Yes that’s anecdotal.

The prohibitionist on the right need to stop trying to force this issue on people. It’s obviously not a federal issue, or a popular one. Marijuana is nowhere near as deadly as alcohol, regardless of how bad some want it to be. The people who defend alcohol while making weed out to be something it’s not look like foolish hypocrites. They can both be used in moderation without too many problems, but alcohol is responsible for far more deaths statistically. There are too many people who still believe everything the government tells us when it comes to certain issues, when we should be skeptical of everything that comes from the government based on everything we know.

Our government was doing all kinds of illegal and unethical experiments with LSD before demonizing it and stopping all legitimate research. It's no coincidence that the 60’s counter culture movement used LSD at a time our government was testing it on college campuses. They let opiates and other addictive drugs be prescribed while downplaying the dangers, and sent a lot of trusting patients down the road of addiction that lead many to their death. The government can’t exactly be easily trusted on any issue. We don't have to side with the people running things like project MKULTRA and Operation Midnight Climax, or the weird hippies of the 60’s the way many of us still do. Trump should support decriminalizing marijuana at the federal level, and let the states make that decision. Regardless of personal opinions, I don’t see how anyone on the right can see this as a federal issue.
