I think they did that just to cheese off the other side.

Yeah, the God Emperor part was taken from some game or comic that all the young folks on reddit like. It’s not actually calling him a god.

I think, Reddit being another home for nerds, got "God Emperor" from the "Dune" series. ie "God Emperor of Dune", (Leto II Atreides).

Anyway, that's my nerd theory.
