record viewing figures for a women’s soccer match in France. French free-to-air broadcaster TF1 recorded a total 9.83 million viewers tune in to watch the game, which saw the hosts run out comfortable 4-0 winners over South Korea.
The broadcast enjoyed an impressive 44 per cent viewing market share in France and peaked at 10.9 million, smashing the country’s previous best for a women’s game of 4.12 million.
