The long rifles m91 (WW1) were fairly accurate. The carbines made from them, not so much. Except for the “Kennedy special”
Ages ago I read of Italian Army officers that took their personal 6.5mm Carcanos to the annual NATO matches in the 1960s (met with much laughter)...and then proceeded to kick their competitors’ butts. Apparently, once you determine the bore’s true dimensions and load appropriately, those “junk” Carcanos can be quite effective.
