I'm originally from Connecticut, and have seen the mistake before. There are some towns where that really does apply. Canaan and New Canaan are on opposite sides, (NW vs SW). My personal; favorite though, is Hampton, CT, which is one fifth the size and 30 miles EAST of East Hampton, Connecticut.

I once went through a DQ drive-through and ordered a hamburger. I was taking it home to eat but I was really hungry so I decided to take a bite or two while on the way home.

I took a bite, then another bite, then pulled off the road to look. Then I turned around and went back. I parked and went inside. At the counter, I unwrapped the “burger” and showed it to the girl. I asked her “is the meat extra?”

Yes, I got a burger with all the appropriate toppings, just no burger patty.

They gave me another one, this time with meat included, and a free order of fries.

Of course I didn’t scream, yell, throw things, slap anybody, or have a hissy fit in general. I actually thought it was funny.

Burger King used to have mustard Whoppers, hamburgers without mayo but with mustard.

I ordered one recently, and they said, “Are you sure you want that?”
