I find it a little odd that William and Kate didn’t attend given that they are approximately the same ages as the Trump “children” and they all have children etc. Seems like it would have been natural for them to be more involved. Harry too (forget Meegan). They had the Mooch and Obama to their home at Kensington Palace. I didn’t see or read about any interaction between them. Wonder what’s up with that?

The Obamas were in power pre-Brexit, and presided over what on the surface seemed like less polarizing times than now.

President Trump on the other hand is arriving at one of the most politically charged and heated moments in recent UK history...and in Europe and the world as a whole.

And for better or worse, Trump is the face of that polarization and tension. The younger royals might have had their perceptions of Trump pre-shaped by the incessant attacks on his character from the media and elites...

But in general, they do not want to be associated with anything too divisive or politically incorrect. It would be risky PR.

Not great feelings between Trump and Meegan? So smarter to exclude all the children of that generation, so as not to show that? Just guessing. Who knows.
