President Donald Trump exchanged formal toasts with Queen Elizabeth II during an elaborate State Banquet at Buckingham Palace on June 3, ending the first day of his state visit to the UK. Trump is spending three days in the UK during his weeklong European trip, which is both ceremonial and official. The centerpiece of the president’s visit will be two days to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day on June 6, likely the last significant commemoration most veterans of the 1944 battle will see. Apart from visiting the queen and attending D-Day commemoration ceremonies on both sides of the English Channel, he will also make his first presidential visit to Ireland.

Democrats Outraged!

They should be delighted. The UK is an Orwellian survelliance / police state that persecutes Christians and immigration dissidents.

As I watched video of the events I couldn’t help thinking, “This could have been Hillary...”

But Hillary took her last shot at power on 11/8/16.

Brings to mind Churchill’s remark: “There is nothing more exhilarating than to be shot at with no result.”

I say this as a Canadian, but why does it seem the US is always kissing UK butt? They don’t deserve it. Not the nation that conspired in a coup against the POTUS.

My American history may be off, but can we blame Alexander Hamilton for that? He wanted a strong relationship with Britain. Of note, part of the reason for the US Depression is the US used the powers of the Federal Reserve to save the UK from a massive outflow of its gold reserve. That resulted in a mild recession in the 30s for the UK and a major one for the US.

Wilson I believe sold you guys out in WWI.

Canada of course was Britain’s “bitch” in WWI and WWII. Without Canada, they would have been in big trouble.

Yes, and I don’t know if you know the horrible story of Gallipoli and how the ANZAC troops were treated by British officers.
