With the thrusters and huge engines, and this being a newish ship, no way it should have happens. Calling it a mechanical issue seems to me an attempt to divert from human error.

Human error? Well, after all we're talking about a vessel moving on the surface of water. Not exactly like you can hit the brakes on the asphalt.
