Also, I notice that 16 y/o boys are not nearly as excited to get their driver's license as in the past.

I'm increasingly seeing this in the military. People are showing up to their commands fresh out of boot camp and A-school; 18, 19, 20 years old and have no driver license or even know how to drive. This is a problem because I need them to drive pickup trucks and duty vans in the performance of their jobs.

Amazing since so many of the kids in the military come from the South. I guess these are city kids?

It took me a long time to realize the significant differences between people who grew up in the country vs. the city. By country I mean small town areas on small or large farms with chores, tractors, hay, broken equipment and no money to replace it but only your wits to fix it and keep working.
