We lived there and loved it. I’ve been back a few times in the last few years, and it has grown so much and is full of crazy, impatient people. I’d call em Yankees, but that might offend. Hahaha. Our children who attended school there learned a ton more than our youngest children have at their common core schools. Virginia did not adopt common core.
As to Yankees. One of our VB friends was from Jones County, Mississippi. After living in VB for a couple of decades her mother said she had become a Yankee. It is a wonderful place. I agree, too many damn Yankees, though.
