My uncle when He got out of World War II started out being the cop on Beat walking the streets downtown in Marietta Ohio and he worked his way up to be Chief for the remaining 18 years of His career. He was by the book no grey area kinda Man. It didnt matter if you were a Civilian or LEO the Rules were the Rules and if you were one of His LEOs He expected and demanded that the Rules were even more important for Them.
He would have had all these scumbags up on Charges and outta His Department in 1/2 a heartbeat.
As far as I know He never had to fire His weapon except at the Range during His career.
One time I remember He had backed out of a parking space at the store in His unmarked car and hit another car just slightly. He checked on the People making sure they were OK. Then He got on the Radio and asked for a Patrol Unit to be Dispatched. When the Unit got there it was one of the Rookies and My Uncle told Him to write a Ticket because He had hit the other car. The Rookie freaked out about it. My Uncle said You will write the Ticket or turn in Your Badge and Gun. Because I am in the wrong. The Rookie Wrote the Ticket.
Hes got to be spinning in the grave at the lack of Duty and Honor these days.
