I thought that since I posted one of the first accounts of this matter, I owed it to my fellow Freepers to post stories that popped up in the ensuing days if they added clarity to the original mystery.
If you will read this particular article, you will see that the author is proposing a reasonable (i.e. relatively non-exotic) explanation.
