I don’t think the president would really have gotten upset about a warship with the McCain name, but someone in control was taking precautions. It’s true that in many ways being an American President is rather close to being treated like a King.

The hell with it. I wouldn’t put it past them them to park the USS McCain right behind his podium, so they can create a photo op and then prattle on and on about Trump being overshadowed by the “legacy” of McCain.

It’s a pity that when he found out about this, President Trump didn’t take the opportunity to go visit the ship, thank the crew for their service and give a little honor to the ships namesake(s) and reminders of the Admiral(s) legacies.

A ship isn’t going to move & hide for something as stupid as this, particularly if it’s undergoing an in port repair availability. Either it’s Fake News or some knothead staff officer at INDO-PACOM is about to lose his job.

So who is lying, the Navy spokesman just said that didn’t happen...they are PROUD of their ship? Must we question everything the media gives us? No wonder people stop paying attention to the “news”...it is all “opinion” and guesswork.
President Trump wouldn’t have given that kind of order out of respect for the men and women aboard the ship.

Trump is not that petty. He would have cared less if the McCain was visible. He may have used the opportunity to take a jab at the deceased ‘war hero’(?)
