Oddly enough, all the vital data is still displayed in analog symbols.

When the dial faces are properly oriented (East Asianed?), all the hands will be at the same angle during "normal" operation. Thus, a simple glance is all that is needed to determine everything is OK.
If there is an "abnormal" reading, the pilot's eye is quickly drawn to that specific dial.

Back When, one of the things that was done to make a production car SCCA ready was to replace all the instruments and idiot lights with analog dials, usually Borg-Warners, and mount them clocked so that all the needles were read straight up at nominal values. One glance is all it took to spot trouble.

I'm beginning to believe that youth and skill can be overcome with age and trickery.
