Learning to read an analog clock is very valuable in terms of developing abstract thinking skills.

So is playing with blocks, tinker toys and Legos. All of which are ten times more valuable for mental development than learning to use a smart phone, tablet, or computer. Ditto for unsupervised time on the playground climbing monkey bars, ladders, and ropes.

Kids who do the things I have mentioned read better, learn better, and have superior abstract & critical thinking skills.

Just imagine these calculator users trying to do real math on paper.

That’s the real threat to their futures, not Global warming BS.
