I would hope they try several different methods to extract the water to determine if it was picking up undissolved salt out of the sample compromising the results.

This understanding could lead to improved climate models to help understand our own changing world, Blättler said, as "any model you build of the climate has to be able to accurately predict the past." Something the Global Warming catastrophist could learn.
But if they did they would have to find a new way to make a living.

Freshman Geology: Hutton’s Theory of Uniformitarianism. all Climate Hystericists should take Geology. This is data before Mann’s hockey stick, but doesn’t agree with the Green New Deal..Hmmm.

"any model you build of the climate has to be able to accurately predict the past." Not for leftards. Their models have to predict exactly what they want them to predict: enough disaster to cause enough fear and guilt, in order to achieve socialism and statism.

Am I the only one to realize that this has never turned out well in any science fiction movie with such a discovery in it's plot?

when ice sheets sucked up ocean water
But ice sheets formed from accumulated snow would, on melting, dilute the salt content of the ancient ocean to what we have today. Is that the thinking? But if the concentration is increased by evaporation alone, the ice sheets would merely be restoring the salt balance to what it was.
How did we get the dilution of today? Comets?
