By Sunday evening of Memorial Day weekend, Chicago police had responded to the shootings of 34 people, five of whom died of their injuries, officials said.
The grim tally grew as a shooting Sunday about 6 a.m. in the 1300 block of West Hastings Street left two dead and three injured. The shooting was possibly in retaliation for an earlier one in the same University Village neighborhood where large crowds had gathered, and which also left a man dead, investigators said.

Guglielmi said detectives are questioning four people of interest in connection with the shooting of five people on Hastings, in the ABLA Homes public housing community.
“Multiple weapons have been recovered and detectives believe our offender opened fire on a group of people with a TEC-9 semi-automatic machine pistol. Two victims suffered fatal injuries and two others are being treated at an area hospital,” he said in a statement.

It would have to be full auto to be a machine pistol.

I called this weekend so far under, I’m totally embarrassed. On the other hand maybe they boyz are trying to make the police chief and me look like optimists. There’s a move to make Chicago a state and separate the rest of Illinois to itself. Anyone wonder why?

No, for once they are just about dead on average. (Pun intended) The rule of thumb is 6 out of 7 people shot with a handgun survive. So their 5 of 34 fatality rate is expected.
I ran every red light out of Inglewood that place is a war zone. My friend wanted to go a gospel church and I was like thats probably not a good idea but since she was really attractive I went. Things young guys do for a pretty girl - back in 1992. I put 2400 miles and two mountain ranges between me and crazy place.

That’s actually not an unreasonable description. My cousin bought one about 30 years ago for giggles. It was a complete piece of crap. I swear it seemed like bullets exited the muzzle at about a 30 degree angle with the barrel centerline.
