My family came to Florida in 1840. Bunch of them moved to Miami in 1920. No AC. First AC I ever saw was taking a train trip around 1949. Didn’t miss what we never had.
That is why the Florida population of permanent residents in 1960 was less than five million, and has exploded to more than twenty-one million in 2019. Wasn’t because they had that many babies.
