According to Auburn police and the Lee County Coroner, Bill Harris, the 52-year-old Bramblett and his 53-year-old wife were in a 2017 Toyota Highlander that was struck in the rear by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 16-year-old.
Some things don’t add up here. A 2017 Highlander should have survived a rear end crash and the airbags should have deployed minimizing injury. T he article does not say they were forced into anything else such as a utility pole or wall. The kid should have gotten the worst of it.
Initial report was the kid was traveling at a high rate of speed. Offset hit rather than direct would do it if speed was high enough.
