I’ve seen him interviewed several times on tv where he was asked why he wasn’t more angry about it. He’s always downplayed it. I suppose he could be an innocent victim but I don’t think it is by any means apparent. Everything he’s done or had done to him is something that could be explained either way and that in itself causes suspicion in my mind.

Even the trip to Moscow seems suspicious to me. He asked the Trump campaign whether they wanted to meet with anyone. That could have been an attempt to entrap. He followed thru with the trip even though they said no and told him that he should not represent that he was acting on behalf of the campaign. But that could have been more the FBIs attempt to test Steele or even to lay a foundation for the FISA warrant.

One thing I find interesting is the interaction between Halper and Page. Supposedly Halper asked Page to help him make contact with other campaign officials. He also met with Page in person. Yet there does not appear to be any effort to trap Page as he did with Papadopoulos. One thing is very interesting though. We know that Halper was a CIA informant. The CIA can’t conduct operations on US soil. That is why the meeting between Papadopoulos and Halper happened overseas. But the interesting thing is that Halper met with Page on US soil. And that suggests that It was not part of an effort to monitor Page. Perhaps he was coordinating or planning a future operation with Page.

Remember when Nunes was going to release the FISA memo? Brennan went ballistic, accusing Trump of treason and claiming that he was going to endanger CIA assets in the field. Of course we know now that the info was totally benign. But why did Brennan go ballistic? Could have it been that he was afraid that Trump would accidentally unmask Page?

All of the circumstances you think demonstrate Pages innocence could just as easily be contrived to divert attention from his involvement, which might expose his cover. Certainly if he were a former CIA station chief in Moscow, then the CIA would want to keep that a secret. I suspect that we’ll never know. They can’t afford to let that slip.
