Of course finding explosives is hard and dangerous. For people. I've never dealt with work dogs, but my guess is that they're oblivious to the danger. Hard working, yes; dogs will work very hard for a scratch behind the ears, a word of encouragement, and a doggie treat. The dogs probably think it's all a game with very strange people rules. If something blows up … well, the dog will never know what hit him.
