Hawaii is tiny. Point yourself in one direction and you will be at the coast. Follow the coast to people.

Not buying it.

No, in worst case scenario....if you just started walking in ONE direction, for five miles in any Hawaii national forest....you’d arrive at some road and if you just sat there, someone within an hour would drive by. Pretty bogus story. She was lit up or high on something.

You might recall the story of Aimee Semple McPherson, who walked in from the Mexican desert in heels, unsunburned, and saying she had been kidnapped and held by a couple named Steve and Rose.

Strangely, she had disappeared from a SoCal beach, where she had been feared drowned. A massive search couldn’t find radio evangelist, founder of the Foursquare Church, Sister Aimee.

The notion she had been seen around, during her captivity, with her radio engineer was denied by Aimee.

727 square miles Laz. Makawao Forest is a dense jungle with hundreds of very steep gullies. It is at least 10 miles as the crow flies to the coastline. Buy it.

Laz, most of the coast in Hawaii is not navigable on foot. Mostly cliffs and rocks, uninhabited. Sand beaches are actually rare.
