We've taken in several animals and the only one with a social problem was the persian. They are very me oriented and ours was also neglected. So attention by either adult she wouldn't share. When we had a new cat we almost ignored it for the first week. That helped our other cats not be jealous. They would be the ones worried about the new one. Funny how it works. But it works.

Thanks. Yes, I’m trying to ignore their shenanigans. I’ll just give them time. I have given them treats not far apart, but my older cat will eat a few, then go nuts.

It’s ok, it will work out one way or the other. There was a dog I wanted to save on Tuesday but couldn’t, then this cat comes along. Everything happens for a reason. :-)
