Getting mechanical repairs done in days instead of weeks would help as well to bring in more customers. You don’t even want to know what it takes in time / costs for collision repairs. There are horror stories on Tesla OWNERS Web Forums.
I remember reading a forum post years ago from a guy who had a 3-year Tesla lease, and waited 4 months for a replacement battery.
He was paying $900 a month for the car to sit in his driveway, inoperable.
The problem is that Tesla owners are like Land Rover, VW Beetle, and Mini Cooper owners. Despite the cars being overpriced and unreliable, they still enjoy a high level of own satisfaction due to their unique characteristics.
