Surprised CNN's headline wasn't, "80,000 bees find two humans living in their home."

As a retired editor, I would have kicked this story back to the reporter. Too many obvious questions unanswered.

1.) Where were the bees relocated to?
2.) What techniques were used to move them?
3.) How much honey was there and who got to keep it?
4.) How long did the procedure take?
5.) How much did it cost?

These are just five questions right off the top of my head.

Crummy reporting of a potentially fascinating story. Just what I would expect from CNN.

Well, that’s all from this old-school newspaperman.

I’m surprised they didn’t blame it on Trump.
Headline —— Bee Depopulation Riddle Solved! Trump Hiding Place of World’s Bees Found!
Mr. and Mrs. Semaj Yemoc, of Granada, Spain, admitted today, that Orange Man Bad had threatened to eat all three of their children, if they refused to hide the bees. “It was terrible! His eyes glow in the dark, and we were terrified for our ninós! He has orange teeth, and a long green tail he hides under his comb-over! Surely NOW, Congress will impeach him!” The family is currently in hiding in upstate New York, with family frien...

Patrick O'Brian fans will remember this from Post Captain.:

Physician and naturalist Stephen Maturin surprises Captain Jack Aubrey with his latest project: beekeeping on a British warship.

“There! A glass hive. Is it not ingenious, charming? I have always wanted to keep bees.”

“But how in God’s name do you expect to keep bees on a man-of-war?” cried Jack. “Where in God’s name do you expect them to find flowers, at sea? How will they eat?”

“You can see their every motion,” said Stephen, close against the glass, entranced. “Oh, as for their feeding, never fret your anxious mind; they will feed with us upon a saucer of sugar, at stated intervals. If the ingenious Monsieur Huber can keep bees, and he blind, the poor man, surely we can manage in a great spacious xebec?”

"This is a frigate."

"Let us never split hairs, for all love. There is the queen! Come, look at the queen!"

"How many of those reptiles might there be?" asked Jack, pretty much aloof.

"Oh, sixty thousand or so, I dare say," said Stephen carelessly.

Had yellow jackets in the wall two years back.
What a noise they made.
They didn’t get through into the house.
Thankfully they don’t return to the same place every year.

Honey bees on the other hand can cause problems if the honey spoils.
(Unless you can harvest the honey.)

Given the concern over collapsing hives, this might be a good indicator.
