Koepka becomes the first player to hold back-to-back titles in two majors at the same time, winning two straight U.S. Open and two consecutive PGA Championships.
Congrats Brooks!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Brooks Koepka. (watched the last 5 or 6 holes)
Congratulations Bruce, you withstood the storm and prevailed.
Attended yesterday, he was a machine and nobody could put anything together to threaten him, he’s got a bright future with the game.
Like the tortous and the hare, DJ almost overcame the “insurmountable” 7 shot lead Brooks had going into final day.
You know, I'm beginning to think this guy is pretty good.
Congratulations Brooks Koepka!
The course was brutal today. Brook’s hung on. DJ played a great round consider the winds.
Shouldnt the title of this thread and all the headlines read:
Tiger Woods doesnt win PGA
I am not a Tiger hater by any means. I am just pointing out that since his comeback began the sports media has reported on every golf tourney from the perspective of Tiger.
Nice to see some new kids and fellow North Carolinians doing well. Great tourney all around. d:^)
Watched every minute yesterday and today. Koepka is talented, interesting to watch. I hope he continues to win—stars are good for the game.
Had to dig deep mentally and physically at the end...and had the class to admit he was glad there weren’t any extra holes to play...
Guy has zero personality and a powerful game. Hall of fame for sure, but not another Tiger IMHO. As far as Tiger, I think his only chance for another major could be The Open Championship. If he doesn’t contend in the next few his quest to beat Jack’s major record is going to be over. He will still be one of the top two players in history for now.
Too bad for Brooks that no one like a younger Tiger was pushing him the 1st three days. He may have began Sunday with an even bigger lead than he did. Brooks does well under pressure.
Brooks first three days gave him the points edge for Sunday’s adverse conditions (winds) everyone had to deal with. I remember one final drive to one of the greens, with 12-14 mile winds from where Brooks stood, with 20mph gusts, was met at the vicinity of the green with almost no wind there, which let the ball sail way past the intended mark and Brooks looking like “what in the hell just happened??”. That was the opposite of what Brooks and others often saw yesterday, with their drives falling well short of the mark with winds that literally batted them down.
He has set some records and I expect he will set many more.
