I don’t doubt it. However, the subject of your post is fake. The spam emails are quite common, though.
I’m pretty sure the first time I read through this, it was in a letter that my mom sent to me. She had received a copy from my aunt, her sister-in-law, and thought it was funny enough to have copies made and she sent it snail mail, as my aunt had sent it to her. I would be willing to bet that was in the early to mid 1990s, and not much later. Remember the typewriter? I think it may have been written with a typewriter, not a computer, but to be honest I can’t be 100% on that. However, a typewriter was an instrument that everyone I knew had one in the home, but not everybody had a computer, especially an elderly aunt, at that point in history. So maybe, just maybe, in the interim years, someone took the typewritten version, and entered it into the computer, and sent it via email. It was very nearly the same, but perhaps not exact. I definitely remember it discussing, the green thing. I love remembering how we did things when I was a kid.
