Okay, who ruined which more: Peter Jackson and The Lord of Rings and The Hobbit? Or the D&D team and Game of Thrones?
I think Jackson did more damage to LOTR/H.
Jackson ruined an established and beloved set of books by making unneccesary changes, deletions, and additions for the worse. The D&D team simply wrote an ending to a series whose creator gave up on writing it years ago.
Well there is a story about emilia Clarke in the la times and it says the script said that jon snow stabs her.
So the Emilia Clarke story and Samwell Tarly are the same.
Spoilers were out there before the season started (if you knew where to look).
>>Just like Jamie’s character to a lesser extent..his story arc was going in a particular direction that they totally jettisoned in a single episode or two..and the whole story line in Ep4 (or was it 5?) with Brienne? Just one question..WHY?!! They only had 6 episodes. <<
I was thinking Jamie may have an heir in a few months.
Jaime was trying to get Cersei to surrender and they were going to escape. Tyrion had a boat waiting for them.
“He was the skeevy creep in the Outlander series.”
His homo tendencies ruined Outlander for me.
No kidding. I can’t think of anything significant Bran did for anyone. Lots of people died for him. But can’t think of any contributions he made.
Outlander is for women
“Outlander is for women”, that don’t mind the same plot over and over again.
Did you read the book?
“Sodomy, rum and the lash”.
I never finished the series.
Gabaldon is creep.
I tried to watch Outlander, but poor writing killed it quickly for me. The constant theme of rape around every corner every minute of the show was exhausting to watch.
I recently found Sneaky Pete on Amazon & I’ve watched all 3 seasons. Fantastic show. Well worth the time watching.
Another one they did not shoot alternate endings
Worst killing of a series ever. This thing went from Shakespearian to a Mel Brookes production in one season.
The problem with writing a story is that the deeper you get into it, the more the die is cast. The story arcs are fairly set and unpredictablity/shock get harder and harder to pull off.
If they wanted to ice out Jon and Dany, then they should have done it earlier or needed two more seasons. It took them three seasons to set up the Red Wedding and two episodes to set up that poop.
What was even the point of Jon being a Targaryen? He could have done what he did, killing her, even if he wasn’t. You take that entire arc out of the series and it would not have changed a damn thing in the ending.
Besides pushing a political agenda, the writing just sucked. These two will go down in history as taking a great show and turning it into a mediocre one.
It was what George Martin wanted. I doubt the sales of his next two books will do very well.
HBO had planned four GOT linked series. Now HBO is only committing to one they are shooting the first pilot in June.
No, it isn’t what GRRM wanted. He is now on record as expressing disappointment. He has to be careful under his contract with HBO not to go too far. But this is pretty far:
I think that the writing sucked because GRRM was telling a story that was so detailed it simply would not lend itself to a rushed conclusion.

Arya becomes Ragnar Lothbrok exploring new lands.
No series is going to be about Arya.
